This study presents one of the world’s first aerial solar pond assembly systems, exploring how its structure can manage daylight, heat collection and thermal insulation in indoor spaces.
Key findings:
- A four glass, three cavity structure integrates lighting, heat collection, heat storage and thermal insulation
- The system achieves 79.62% visible light transmittance while blocking more than 84% of infrared radiation
- The study also evaluates its sealing, mechanical and weather resistance, identifying requirements for future development and wider application
