- All submissions are screened for plagiarism prior to review
Article Processing Charge
An article processing charge of USD 200 applies to each accepted paper. This covers editorial handling, peer review administration and publication costs.
The charge is payable upon acceptance and must be settled before the final paper is published. WSSET members may be eligible for a reduced rate — contact setconference@wsset.org for details.
Submission Process
- 1Download the official SET manuscript template from the SET Conference website and prepare your paper accordingly.
- 2Submit your paper via EasyChair at the link provided on the SET Conference website. You will need to create a free EasyChair account if you do not already have one.

Publication Policies
Peer Review
All submissions undergo single-blind peer review to ensure technical accuracy and research quality. Each manuscript is first screened by the Editorial Board for scope and format suitability, then sent to a minimum of two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field and are not members of the organising committee.
Reviewers evaluate submissions based on: originality and novelty of the contribution; technical quality and scientific rigour; clarity of presentation; relevance to the scope of the proceedings.
Possible outcomes are: acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. The Editorial Board makes all final acceptance decisions solely on the basis of the referees' reports and academic merit. Conference attendance is not required for publication.
Authors who identify an error in their published paper should contact the Proceedings Editor at setconference@wsset.org. Where appropriate, a correction or erratum will be issued.
Publishing Ethics
Authorship and Contributorship
All listed authors must have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research. Specifically, each author must have:
- Made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research (concept, design, data collection or analysis)
- Participated in drafting or critically revising the paper for intellectual content
- Approved the final version before submission
AI tools may not be credited as authors. Any individual who does not meet all authorship criteria but contributed to the work should be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section.
Plagiarism and Redundant Publication
- Submissions must be original and not published elsewhere in any form
- Papers must not be under simultaneous consideration by any other publication
- Extended versions of earlier work are acceptable only if properly acknowledged and where the new submission represents a substantial development
- All submissions are screened for plagiarism prior to review
Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial, personal or professional relationships that could be perceived as influencing the work. This includes funding sources, employment, consultancies or personal relationships with individuals who may benefit from publication. Disclosures must be included in the submitted manuscript.
Human and Animal Research
Research involving human participants or animal subjects must comply with applicable ethical standards and have received appropriate institutional ethical approval prior to submission. Authors must include a statement confirming ethical approval and, where relevant, that informed consent was obtained from all participants.
Data Sharing and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their research findings available wherever possible, either within the manuscript or via a recognised data repository. Where data cannot be shared due to ethical, legal or commercial restrictions, authors should state this clearly in the manuscript.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision may submit a written appeal to the Proceedings Editor at setconference@wsset.org, clearly stating the grounds for appeal. Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board who was not involved in the original decision. The outcome of the appeal is final.
Copyright and Licensing
Copyright for the SET Conference Proceedings series is held by WSSET. Authors retain copyright of their individual papers but grant WSSET the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute and archive them as part of the conference proceedings.
The SET Conference Proceedings are fully open access and freely available online. Readers may download and share papers for personal and academic use, provided the published version is properly cited in all cases. Commercial use or modification of published papers requires written permission from WSSET.
All published papers include full author names, institutional affiliations and country or region of affiliation.
Post-Publication
Content Preservation
All volumes of the SET Conference Proceedings are archived in the University of Nottingham Research Repository, ensuring long-term preservation and continued open access availability independent of the WSSET website.
Post-Publication Dialogue
The proceedings welcome responsible post-publication dialogue. Readers may contact the Proceedings Editor with comments, critiques or concerns, which will be reviewed and addressed in line with COPE guidance.
Corrections and Retractions
Where errors are identified in published papers, the Proceedings Editor will assess whether a correction, erratum or retraction is appropriate. All post-publication changes are documented transparently in the repository record.
Advertising
Advertising has no influence on editorial decisions. The acceptance or rejection of papers is determined solely on the basis of academic merit and reviewer recommendations.
Indexing and Discoverability
The Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (ISSN: 2978-4387) are hosted in the University of Nottingham Research Repository and freely accessible online. Each volume carries a unique ISBN. Individual papers are discoverable through the repository and open academic search platforms.
Authors are strongly encouraged to register an ORCID identifier and ensure their institutional affiliation is accurately recorded to maximise the discoverability and attribution of their work.
Commitment to Publication Ethics
The SET Conference Proceedings follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices to ensure the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing. WSSET is committed to investigating allegations of misconduct, issuing corrections or retractions where necessary, and upholding transparency, fairness and research integrity in line with COPE guidelines.
Any suspected breach of publication ethics should be reported to the Proceedings Editor at setconference@wsset.org. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated in accordance with COPE procedures.

Use of Generative AI
This policy governs the use of generative AI and AI-assisted tools by all participants in the SET Conference Proceedings process — authors, reviewers, editors and production staff — and is effective immediately. It does not cover AI tools used solely for data analysis, simulation or other research-specific tasks that form part of the methodology being reported.
Core Principles
Human Responsibility: All final content — text, figures, editorial decisions — remains the sole responsibility of the named individuals involved. AI tools do not share responsibility for published work.
Transparency: Any permitted AI use in the writing or preparation of a manuscript must be openly declared in the cover letter and in the manuscript itself.
Confidentiality: Submitted manuscripts, peer-review reports and editorial correspondence are confidential and must not be shared with external AI services at any stage of the process.
Authors
Permitted
- Language polishing, grammar correction and formatting assistance
- Translation support, provided the final text is verified by the authors
Prohibited
- Generating new scientific content, novel arguments or conclusions
- Drafting the main body of a manuscript
- Creating, altering, enhancing or fabricating figures, images or data
- Crediting AI as an author or co-author
Authors must declare any AI assistance in their cover letter and include a brief disclosure statement in the manuscript.
Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers - Prohibited
- Uploading manuscripts or drafting review reports using any external AI service
- Using AI to evaluate technical content or compose review comments
Reviewers - Permitted
- Local, offline language-checking tools that do not transmit text externally
Editors - Prohibited
- Processing editorial documents, submissions or decision letters through external AI tools
- Using AI-generated text in editorial communications
WSSET may use approved internal AI tools for plagiarism checks, reviewer matching or production workflows, under strict confidentiality and data protection standards.
Figures and Artwork
Prohibited
- Using generative AI to design, enhance, remove or introduce elements in images, diagrams or graphical abstracts
- AI-generated figures presented as original experimental results
Permitted
- Basic image adjustments (brightness, contrast, colour balance) that do not misrepresent data
Research Methods Exception: If AI-driven imaging is a core research method, authors must fully describe the tool, version, parameters and provide original raw and AI-processed files upon request.
Compliance and Consequences
Any suspected breach of this policy will be reviewed by the Proceedings Editor. Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, outcomes may include:
- Manuscript rejection prior to publication
- Issuing a correction or clarification if detected post-publication
- Withdrawal of the paper from the proceedings archive
- Temporary exclusion from submitting to future SET volumes
